This is the first good shot I’ve ever taken of a butterfly – or most any insect. It was right next to a Best Western in Newport, TN. A nice little town in the Smokies. (Don’t let the close-up of a chain-link fence fool you 8^).

Thank you! It took about four quick tries, but it was worth it. And I promise I didn’t leave out a saucer of beer or anything to slow him down. 8^). I say “four tries”, but had tried on several other days without success to get a good shot before the butterfly (or other insect) flew away.
Butterflies like fruit and salty things. They also slow down as it gets milder.
