These are the final lines on this gravestone for Captain Jedediah Palmer, from the graveyard at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Richmond, Virginia. I’m not sure why it was leaning up against an outbuilding like this. Maybe for cleaning?

The church itself is the famous one where Patrick Henry delivered his “Give me liberty or give me death” speech. The mother of Edgar Allan Poe is buried in the graveyard, as well as George Wythe, a signer of the Declaration of Independence . I’ll post more photos later of both the graveyard and the church.
